Rev Richard Andrew and Mr Matthew Forsyth write about their visit to Wales Synod Cymru -
"The final District visit of the Presidency took us to the Wales Synod Cymru.
It has been a visit full of story, song, language, faith and hope.
We began at the Eisteddfod, the largest youth gathering in Europe, and a wonderful celebration of the Welsh language, culture and creativity. It was great to see the churches together through Cytûn offering such an engaging and welcoming presence, reflecting something of the life and spirit of the space. It was also a privilege to meet Archbishop Cherry of Wales.
We then visited the Open Door gathering at Capel Shiloh Newydd, a beautiful expression of welcome, community and faith.
In Llandudno, we had the opportunity to visit St John’s Methodist Church and even make it to the top of the spire, currently under repair, before sharing in a faith and politics session.
The visit also included Beyond Belief, an outdoor worship gathering hosted by the Bangor and Holyhead Circuit, where we gathered in the open air to worship, reflect and be reminded again that God is always calling us beyond the walls and into the world. Some hotdogs and Smores might have been eaten…
We have been blessed by our District hosts this year and the Wales Synod Cymru, we’re no different in their offering. Thank you. "
