We met with around 40 young people at the Abernant Lake Hotel for a day of Tuning into God, the World and each other at Momentwm’s Big Day Out.
Our Young people got to test their limits and engage with people from over all over the district. From Aeroball, a hybrid of trampolining, volleyball and basketball, to running the obstacle course. They were able to channel their inner Sherlock Holmes with a scavenger hunt and were able to join into an interactive session about transforming and transfiguration.
We piloted a new idea this year for the youth workers who attend with their young people, they were able to discuss topics that affect the ways we engage with youth work in our contexts, from funding to youth work resources. This session was also used to introduce our new Learning and development officer, Roxanne, she was able to provide an insight to what the Learning network offers.
We took feedback from those that attended the Big Day Out, which will feed into the planning and preparation for Big Day Out 2025 – Our theme moving forward will be Journeys.
